In order to collect experimental data for our prototypes we decided to use in cloud server.
Collecting data allows us to evaluate the performance of our wind turbines in the long term and in different conditions of use.
We have therefore chosen to use a system based on a microcontroller (NodeMCU esp8266) compatible Arduino combined with some sensors (wind and rev counter) that sends the data collected to a remote in cloud server.
The cloud service is available on https://io.adafruit.com where you can view the collected data at any time.
The microcontroller sends the data relating to wind and rotation speed of the turbine
every 15 minutes. This will allow us to obtain the power graph for each monitored prototype.
We will publish the collected data and charts in the near future.
